Jeff Edwards
Jeff Edwards has over 35 years of accounting, finance, treasury and analytical experience. Jeff uses these extensive management skills to contribute to strategic discussions. Deeply rooted in cash flow forecasting and management, as well as being a continual and quick learner, Jeff enjoys the challenge of using accounting, finance, and problem-solving tools to address organizational challenges. Jeff speaks the language of business and works collaboratively with team members from the board room to all other levels of the organization. Jeff’s executive healthcare experience includes serving in a rural community hospital and multispecialty clinic, an urban primary care physician practice, a large specialty/sub-specialty physician practice, and a full-risk population health management organization.
Jeff was born in Mississippi and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg where he obtained both a Bachelor and Master of Professional Accountancy (MPA). Jeff also holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Financial Manager. He is also Accredited in Business Valuation from the Association of International Certified Public Accountants.
Jeff began his career in 1985 with BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. in Mississippi and concluded his career in telephony in Atlanta, Georgia in 2008. Jeff commenced his work in the healthcare industry in 2003 joining Shandon Enterprises, LLC as Director of Finance part-time. After leaving BellSouth in 2008, Jeff transitioned to healthcare full-time as Chief Financial Officer of Solaris Heart & Vascular, a large, multi-location specialty/sub-specialty cardiology physician practice. Subsequent to his position as the Chief Financial Officer of STARUS Medical Group, a private-equity-backed, full-risk population health management Medicare Advantage organization, Jeff served as Chief Development Officer of South Georgia Medical Center, a rural four-hospital health system. In this role, his responsibilities included building the physician enterprise network for the health system through mergers and acquisitions, new medical practice implementation and development, clinical management, physician recruiting, and physician compensation management.
Jeff enjoys reading and keeping up with Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey. He is a proud Grandfather and values time with his wife, their two children and spouses, and three grandchildren. He currently resides in Jacksonville, Florida.
