James J. Varrone

Jay Varrone is a supply chain and operations best practice executive with more than 25 years of healthcare and manufacturing experience. Adept at problem solving, Jay brings key skills of conducting in-depth operational and spend analysis to assist organizations in transformation to best in class. His strong team building skills allow him to facilitate cost reductions while simultaneously improving productivity.

Originally from Connecticut, Jay currently resides in the southeast. He obtained both his BS and MBA in Management and Industrial Relations from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Jay has obtained the professional designation of Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) and Six Sigma Green/Lean Manufacturing certifications.

Jay began his professional career in supply chain management in the manufacturing sector. His transition to healthcare has provided him with experience in a not-for profit community hospital and two not-for-profit regional healthcare networks. During his healthcare career, he has overseen and directed supply chain operations for purchasing, contracting, warehousing, medical surgical, materials and inventory management, value analysis, distribution and championing all major-non labor cost reduction initiatives. Jay’s ability to access needs and develop relationships are influential in his successful outcomes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Jay and his wife are the parents of three adult children. Jay is an avid bike rider.
